Rogue Core Risk Vectors Tier List (After the Update 1.2 Rework)
Update 1.2 reworked Rogue Core's Risk Vectors so enemy-adding modifiers hit much harder. Our tier list ranks Risk Vectors after the rework — and which stacks to fear.
Combat Summary
- Official: Update 1.2 (July 9) reworked Risk Vectors: enemy-adding vectors like Edgestalker Patrol and Scorcher Horde now have real, felt impact, and stacking multiple vectors has “very real consequences.”
- Official: Risk Vector spawns now also join the enemy pool assisting Gatekeepers during boss fights — so vectors matter most in the fights that matter most.
- Community-tested: The rankings below reflect how much each vector warps a run after the rework. Stacking two or more enemy-adders is the single scariest modifier combination in the game right now.
Short version: S tier — Edgestalker Patrol and Scorcher Horde, especially stacked or paired. A tier — single enemy-adders at high Threat Levels, and any enemy-adder carried into a Gatekeeper fight. B tier — non-stacked, non-enemy vectors your build can mostly absorb.
What Risk Vectors Are
Risk Vectors are opt-in run modifiers that trade extra challenge for extra reward. The enemy-adding ones — Edgestalker Patrol, Scorcher Horde — inject extra hostile spawns into your mission. Before Update 1.2 these felt like background noise. The rework changed that, and players who still pick vectors on autopilot are getting punished for it.
The Tier List (Post-1.2)
S Tier — Run-Warping
- Edgestalker Patrol (stacked): The poster child of the rework. Patrols that used to be a nuisance now apply genuine pressure, and stacking patrols compounds fast.
- Scorcher Horde (stacked or paired with a patrol): Horde events hit harder and more often. Paired with a patrol vector, crowd control becomes the entire run.
A Tier — Respect Them
- Single enemy-adders at Threat Level 3+: One patrol or horde vector on a high Threat Level is manageable but demands a plan — bring crowd control and do not split the squad.
- Enemy-adders carried into Gatekeeper fights: Officially confirmed — vector spawns now reinforce bosses. Whatever you picked for the mission shows up when the Gatekeeper does.
B Tier — Manageable
- Non-stacked utility vectors: Modifiers that do not add enemies remain the safer picks. They still change the run, but they will not end it on their own.
Ranking basis: Official 1.2 rework notes for what changed; community consensus for the tiers. Tier placements are community-tested opinion, not official rankings.
Stacking: The Real Danger
Ghost Ship Games’ own wording: stacking Risk Vectors has “very real consequences.” In practice the vectors multiply rather than add — two enemy-adders do not feel like twice one, they feel like a different game. Community-tested advice: never stack two enemy-adders unless your squad is built for it and everyone knows the plan beforehand.
Risk Vectors and Boss Fights
The 1.2 change that matters most for Gatekeeper fights: vector spawns now reinforce bosses. Update 1.2 also gave every Gatekeeper counterattacks, so boss fights already demand more respect than they used to. A stacked enemy-adder on top of a counterattacking boss is the hardest content in the game outside Threat Level 4–5 wave stacking.
Verification status: official Update 1.2 notes (July 9, 2026) for mechanics; tier rankings are community consensus. Updated October 4, 2026.
