DRG Promotion: What It Does & Why You Need It

Deep Rock Galactic promotion unlocks crucial features like Deep Dives, perk slots, and higher player ranks. It's essential for advancing your miner and accessing endgame content.

DRG Promotion: What It Does & Why You Need It

Combat Summary

  • Your first Promotion for a class unlocks crucial features like Deep Dives, additional perk slots, and access to new tiers of player rank.
  • Each Deep Rock Galactic class promotes individually once it reaches Level 25 and completes its Promotion Assignment.
  • Promoting your dwarves is critical for true endgame progression and accessing all available content and challenges.

What Promotion Unlocks

Reaching a class’s first Promotion is a game-changer. It’s not just a fancy badge; it’s a direct upgrade to your capabilities and access to higher-tier content:

  • Deep Dives & Elite Deep Dives: Unlocks these weekly challenges, offering significant rewards like Blank Overclocks for the Forge. This is arguably the most important unlock.
  • Perk Slots: Grants access to more Passive and Active Perk slots, allowing for greater build customization and power.
  • Forging Overclocks: Enables you to use the Accessory Shop’s Forge to craft weapon Overclocks you’ve acquired. Without promotion, you cannot craft them.
  • Legendary Ranks: Unlocks the ability for your Player Rank to advance beyond the initial caps, pushing into the Veteran, Master, and Legendary tiers for overall account prestige.
  • Cosmetic Rewards: Each Promotion grants a unique framework and paint job for the promoted dwarf, along with additional Mastery unlocks.

How to Promote Your Dwarf

Promoting a dwarf is a straightforward process once you hit the Level 25 cap:

  1. Reach Level 25: Play missions with your chosen class until it hits maximum level.
  2. Complete the Promotion Assignment: A special assignment will appear in the Assignment Board in your Space Rig, typically requiring a few specific mission types.
  3. Pay the Cost: Once the assignment is done, head to the Promotion Terminal (the same one you use for changing classes) and pay the required Credits and Minerals. This cost is a fixed amount for all classes and subsequent promotions.

Once complete, your dwarf’s level will reset to 1, but its rank (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.) will increase, marking its continued progress. You retain all unlocked weapons, upgrades, and Overclocks.

Why Promotion Matters

Management demands excellence, and a promoted dwarf is a proven asset. Beyond the tangible unlocks, promotion signifies a miner’s dedication and skill. It allows you to continue gaining XP on your favorite classes, pushing your overall Player Rank higher, and tackling the most formidable challenges Hoxxes IV throws at you. Don’t waste time; get your dwarves promoted and unleash their full potential in the mines. Rock and Stone!
