Glyphid Praetorian & Oppressor Weak Points Guide

Learn to quickly identify and exploit the glowing weak points on Glyphid Praetorians and Oppressors for maximum damage. Prioritize these targets to save ammo and control swarms.

Glyphid Praetorian & Oppressor Weak Points Guide

Combat Summary

  • Glyphid Praetorians expose a glowing, bulbous abdomen (their “butt”) as their primary weak point, especially after acid attacks or when turning.
  • Glyphid Oppressors feature multiple, distinct weak points along their armored back, requiring team coordination or specific Combat Tactics to exploit.
  • Focusing fire on these Weak Points is crucial for quickly neutralizing these armored threats, saving valuable ammo and Nitra.

Praetorian Weak Point Tactics

Praetorians are common large Glyphid Praetorian threats that demand precise targeting. Their frontal armor is nearly impervious. The glowing abdomen is their critical vulnerability. To hit it, you’ll need to either flank them, wait for them to turn after an attack, or utilize Scout mobility to get behind them quickly. Drillers can tunnel under or behind them, while Engineers can deploy platforms for advantageous firing angles. Gunners can drop shields to create safe zones for repositioning and targeting the rear. A direct hit on this weak point significantly accelerates their takedown, especially on higher Hazards.

Oppressor Weak Point Tactics

The Glyphid Oppressor is a mobile fortress, fully armored from the front. Its numerous Weak Points are exclusively located on its back. This necessitates a coordinated approach. Gunners can draw aggro while other Miners maneuver to the rear. Driller’s axes or C4 can be effective at creating space or dealing burst damage to the exposed back. Engineers can create chokepoints or elevated positions to rain fire down. Remember, sustained fire on these weak spots will bring down even the toughest Oppressor. This Enemy Guide emphasizes patience and tactical movement.

General Weak Point Strategy

Identifying and exploiting weak points is fundamental to survival on Hoxxes IV. Beyond Praetorians and Oppressors, many enemies, including Dreadnoughts and Wardens, have specific vulnerabilities. Always prioritize hitting these glowing or distinct areas. Weapons with high single-target damage or overclocks that enhance weak point damage (e.g., M1000 Classic “Hoverclock” for Scout) are invaluable. Effective communication about enemy positioning, especially for getting behind armored targets, can turn the tide of a swarm.
