DRG Hiveguard Low Ammo Recovery Tactics
Recover from critical low ammo situations during Hiveguard encounters with these tactics. Thorough map sweeps and resource awareness are key to turning near-failures into victories.
Combat Summary
- When facing the Hiveguard with critically low ammo, conduct a meticulous map sweep for missed Nitra Management opportunities or forgotten supply pods.
- Focus remaining ammunition and pickaxe strikes on the boss’s exposed weak points and sentinels to maximize damage output.
- True Dwarves never abandon a mission; unexpected resources can enable a full Mission Recovery even at the brink of failure.
The Low Ammo Crisis
Running dry on ammo during a Hiveguard fight is a critical error, but not necessarily a mission-ender. Many Miners make the mistake of conceding defeat too early, especially after a few failed attempts to chip away at a boss with depleted magazines. Management expects efficiency, but survival comes first. Your first step should always be a calm assessment, not panic.
Last-Ditch Resource Scan
Your map is your most vital tool. Before declaring a mission lost, pull up the terrain scanner. Look for unmined veins of Nitra Management – even small pockets can add up. More importantly, search for any uncalled or partially used supply pods left behind by other Dwarves, or even your own team, who may have resupplied and moved on. These forgotten lifelines are surprisingly common and can completely turn the tide. Don’t rely on memory; the map reveals all.
Hiveguard Weak Points
If you’re truly out of options, your pickaxe is your last resort. While less efficient, direct strikes to the Hiveguard’s exposed soft spots or its sentinels can still deal damage. Prioritize breaking the armor on its weak points first, then unleash whatever you have left – even if it’s just a handful of bullets – into the exposed flesh. Every point of damage counts when resources are scarce.
Never Give Up
The most devastating losses often come from giving up too soon. The difference between failure and a hard-won victory can be a single hidden Nitra vein or an overlooked supply drop. Maintain situational awareness, check your map, and communicate with your team. A collective effort to find those last precious resources can lead to an epic Mission Recovery that Management will never acknowledge, but you’ll remember. Rock and Stone!
