Deep Rock Galactic: Optimize Nitra & Resupply Calls

Master efficient Nitra and Resupply Calls in Deep Rock Galactic to keep your team supplied and alive. Learn when to call, how to share, and avoid common resource mistakes.

Deep Rock Galactic: Optimize Nitra & Resupply Calls

Combat Summary

  • Communicate & Consolidate: Ping all Nitra and coordinate resupply points for maximum team benefit, especially during objective phases.
  • Prioritize Need: Low health/ammo Miners get priority. Don’t call a full resupply just for yourself if others are critically low.
  • Strategic Placement: Drop pods in defensible locations to create temporary safe zones during swarms or objective holding.

Management expects us to be self-sufficient, and that means being smart about every single piece of Nitra. Wasting resupplies or hoarding resources is a fast way to get yourself and your team wiped on Hoxxes IV. This isn’t about personal glory; it’s about making every drop count through smart Nitra Management.

When to Call a Resupply

The ideal time to call a resupply depends heavily on current mission status and team needs. General rule: if one Miner is critically low (under 50% health/ammo) and Nitra is plentiful, call it. If multiple Miners are nearing critical, it’s overdue. Forcing a team to run on fumes or exposing them to unnecessary risks because you’re saving Nitra for “later” is poor Resupply Tactics. Call it before a major objective push or when you anticipate a large swarm.

Efficient Nitra Collection

Every piece of Nitra contributes to your team’s survival. When you see Nitra, ping it. Don’t just grab it and move on. This is crucial for effective Teamplay DRG. Designate a Scout or Driller to quickly gather hard-to-reach veins. Remember, even if you don’t need ammo, your Gunner or Engineer might be burning through theirs, and a dead teammate means less firepower.

Teamplay and Resource Sharing

This isn’t a solo expedition. Once a resupply is called, each Miner gets two resupply pods. If you’re full on ammo or health, leave your pods for critically low teammates. Never double-dip without permission, especially from a Scout or Driller who often rely on their high mobility or crowd control to stay alive. Good Mission Strategy involves knowing who needs what most at any given moment.

Common Resupply Mistakes

  • Hoarding Nitra: Saving 200+ Nitra when the team is struggling, “just in case.” Just in case often means someone goes down unnecessarily.
  • Lone Wolf Resupplies: Calling a resupply far from the team in an undefended spot, only for yourself. This wastes Nitra and isolates you.
  • Ignoring Pings: Failing to acknowledge teammates’ low ammo pings or Nitra pings.
  • Mismanaging Ammo: Wasting ammo on small targets when you’re already low, forcing an early resupply.

Miner’s Chatter

The community frequently discusses the delicate balance of Nitra collection and resupply calls. Many Miners emphasize the importance of communication, noting that a single ping for “low on ammo” can prevent a wipe. The frustration with teammates who “steal” resupply pods or hoard Nitra is a common sentiment, reinforcing that good resource management is a cornerstone of effective team play.
