Play Stone Sweep online
Stone Sweep is an original curling shootout: you are Skip Pip, throwing 4 granite stones against Rook's 4 across a single end.
Drag down and release to throw, then hold to sweep - sweeping cuts friction so a stone runs farther down the sheet.
Hit the red hog line or the stone is fouled out; knock Rook's stones out, guard your own, and finish closest to the button to score.
Standard curling scoring: only the closest team's stones count, ties go to you. All characters, art and Web Audio sound are original.
How to control Stone Sweep
- Throw: drag down & release (mouse/touch)
- Sweep: hold pointer / Space / SWEEP button
- Restart: R or ↻ button
- Mute: M
How to play
- 1
Drag downward from the stone and release to throw - the arrow shows aim, the bar shows power.
- 2
During the slide, hold anywhere (or Space) to sweep and make the stone travel farther.
- 3
Stones that never cross the red hog line are fouled out (HOGGED!).
- 4
You and Rook alternate 4 stones each; you throw last (the hammer).
- 5
After 8 stones, curling scoring applies: the team closest to the button scores one point per stone nearer than the opponent's best. Outscore Rook to win - ties go to you.
Tips for a better run
A draw to the button needs about 55% power - dragging all the way down is takeout weight.
Sweep only when the stone is running short; sweeping a takeout can push it past the house.
Rook loves the takeout when your stone sits in the house - leave a guard stone short of the rings to block his path.
Knocked-out stones stay out, so a perfect hit on Rook's shot stone can flip the whole end.
Watch the hog line: weak throws are removed, so commit to your power.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stone Sweep a copy of an existing curling game?
No. Stone Sweep only borrows the general idea of curling. Skip Pip, rival Rook, the sheet layout, the drag-to-throw plus hold-to-sweep controls, the canvas art and the Web Audio sounds are all original work created for this game.
How do I throw and sweep?
Press and drag downward from the stone, then release. The arrow shows your aim and the bar shows power. During the slide, hold anywhere (or Space, or the SWEEP button) to sweep - sweeping cuts friction so the stone travels farther.
What is a hog foul?
A stone that never crosses the red hog line is removed as a foul (HOGGED!). Stones knocked past the back line or off the sheet are also out of play.
How is the end scored?
Only stones of the team closest to the button (center) score - one point per stone that sits closer than the opponent's nearest stone. You need more points than Rook; ties go to you.
