Play Rolling Refuge online
Rolling Refuge is a top-down arena survival game: you command a rolling fortress crossing the Rust Wastes.
Your turret auto-fires at the nearest scrap-beast. You drive — kite the horde, scoop up the scrap they drop, and spend it on upgrades.
Beasts come in 10 waves: fast Chasers, quicker Dashers (wave 3+), and tanky Brutes (wave 5+). Contact with your hull deals damage.
Spend scrap in the shop bar: Plating for +25 hull, Cannon for +4 damage, Rapid for +14% fire rate, Magnet for +50 pickup range, or Repair to restore 60% hull.
Clear all 10 waves to win. Your fastest clear time is saved in your browser.

Tips for a better run
Keep moving in wide loops — standing still lets the horde chew your hull.
Buy Cannon and Rapid early: more damage means more scrap drops to fund everything else.
Grab Plating before wave 5, when tanky Brutes start spawning.
Dashers are faster than they look — don't let them corner you against the arena edge.
Save a repair fund (25 scrap) for emergencies instead of spending to zero.
M: mute, R: restart after a run ends.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Drive with WASD/arrow keys, or drag on touch screens. The turret fires by itself at the nearest scrap-beast — your job is positioning, kiting, and spending scrap on upgrades.
What do I spend scrap on?
Every beast you destroy drops scrap. Grab it and spend it in the bottom shop bar (keys 1-5): Plating (+25 hull), Cannon (+4 damage), Rapid (+14% fire rate), Magnet (+50 pickup range), or Repair (restore 60% hull).
Is there a strategy beyond shooting?
Yes. Kiting — driving in wide loops while your turret fires — keeps beasts off your hull. Fast Dashers and tanky Brutes appear from wave 3 and 5, so keep moving and keep upgrading.
Is Rolling Refuge a copy of another game?
No. Rolling Refuge is fully original: the commander, the Rolling Refuge fortress, the scrap-beasts (Chasers, Dashers, Brutes), the Rust Wastes setting, and all code, art, and audio are original works. It takes the general arena-survival genre as inspiration but references no existing games, brands, films, or franchises.
How do I win fast?
Balance cannon and rapid-fire upgrades early — dead beasts drop the scrap that funds everything else. Buy plating before wave 5 when Brutes arrive, and keep a repair fund for emergencies.
