Mate Strike is a chess tactics sprint: ten original mate-in-1 puzzles, White to move in every one, five minutes on the clock.
Each position was composed for this game and verified by a built-in chess engine — every puzzle genuinely has a checkmate, and any mating move you find is accepted. There is nothing to memorize and no single 'intended' line to guess.
Tap a white piece to see its legal moves, then strike. A correct mate flashes green and banks 100 points; a wrong move costs one of your 3 hearts.
Clear all ten to become a Mate Master, with a time bonus for every second left on the clock. Your best score is saved locally.

Tips for a better run
Check every check: start by listing White's checking moves — the mate is almost always among them.
Defended sacrifices win games: a queen that looks hanging is deadly when a bishop or rook covers the square.
Watch the enemy king's escape squares first, then find the move that covers all of them at once.
Knights are mate machines in tight corners — if the king is boxed in by his own pieces, look for the knight jump.
Do not rush the clock: you have five minutes for ten puzzles, so spend 20 seconds visualizing before touching a piece.

How do I win?
Solve all 10 mate-in-1 puzzles before the 5-minute clock runs out. Each wrong (non-mating) move costs one of your 3 hearts — lose all 3 and the run ends.
Is there always exactly one solution?
Yes — every position was engine-verified to have at least one checkmating move for White, and any move that checkmates Black is accepted. Some puzzles have more than one solution.
How do I move the pieces?
Tap one of your (white) pieces, then tap a highlighted square. Captures are highlighted in red. Pawn promotions become queens automatically.
