Play Drop Four online
Drop Four is an original connect-four duel: you play amber discs against Bolt, a teal AI that looks five moves ahead on a classic 7×6 board.
Drop a disc into any column and it falls to the lowest free cell. Link four in a row — horizontal, vertical, or diagonal — before Bolt links his own four.
Bolt blocks open threes, grabs his own winning move the instant you leave one, and loves the centre column. Win fast for a bigger score: every empty cell left on the board is worth 50 bonus points.

Tips for a better run
The centre column belongs to the most lines of four — claim it early and build out from it.
Two threats beat one: set up two different open threes and Bolt can only block one.
Watch the diagonals: a diagonal four is the easiest one to miss while you stare at the rows.
Never leave an open three unblocked — Bolt takes the win the very next move.
A win in fewer moves scores more, so attack early instead of turtling.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if the board fills up with no winner?
No — a draw is rare on a 7×6 board, and when the board fills with no four in a row, you hold the line: it counts as a win for you, worth 500 points.
How smart is the AI opponent?
Bolt looks five moves ahead, so he will spot an open three and block it — and he will take his own winning move the moment you leave one open. The centre column is the strongest place to build: it belongs to the most possible lines of four.
Who goes first, and where does my disc land?
You always move first. A disc drops to the lowest free cell in the column you pick, so think in stacks: build two threats at once and Bolt can only block one of them.
How do I win, and how is the score counted?
Four of your amber discs in a row — across, down, or diagonally. A win pays 1000 points plus 50 for every empty cell left on the board, so a fast win scores more. Your fewest-moves win is saved as your best.
