Play Club Nine online
Club Nine is a football trivia grid puzzle: nine squares, twelve clubs, one perfect grid.
Each row and column carries a label — 'Red kits', 'Coastal club', '3+ league titles', 'Bird mascot' and more.
Tap a square, then pick the club that satisfies BOTH labels. Every club can be used only once.
Wrong picks burn your 12 guesses. Fill all nine squares before they run out to win.
The league is 100% fictional — Harbor City, Kingsport FC, Oldham Vale and nine more invented clubs — and a fresh grid is dealt every day.
How to control Club Nine
- Mouse / touch: tap an empty square, then tap a club on the right panel
- N: deal a new grid
- M: mute audio
- Enter: start / play again

Tips for a better run
Attack the most restrictive squares first: title counts and founding eras eliminate clubs fastest.
Keep versatile clubs in reserve for vague squares like 'Stadium under 40,000'.
Read BOTH labels before tapping — most wrong picks come from checking only one.
A fresh grid is dealt daily; press N any time for a new puzzle.

Frequently asked questions
Is Club Nine a copy of a trivia game?
No. Club Nine is fully original: the twelve-club league (Harbor City, Redcliff Utd, Northgate Rov and the rest), every club attribute, the criterion set, the grid generator, and all code, art, and audio are original works. It takes the general 3x3 trivia-grid format as inspiration but references no real-world clubs, leagues, or existing games.
How do I play?
Tap an empty square to highlight it, then tap one of the twelve clubs on the right that satisfies BOTH the row label and the column label (for example: row 'Red kits' + column 'Coastal club'). Each club can be used only once. Fill all 9 squares within 12 guesses to win.
Any strategy tips?
Start with the squares whose row and column labels are the most restrictive — '3+ league titles' or 'No league titles yet' narrow the field fast. Save flexible clubs (mid-table, common colors) for the vaguest squares. Every day brings a fresh grid, and the N key (or the New grid button) deals another one any time.
