Play Tune Trove online
Tune Trove is a guess-the-tune game where every melody is original: 8 tunes composed for this game and synthesized live with WebAudio — no recordings, no samples, no copyrighted material anywhere in the pipeline.
Each round gives you 3 seconds of a mystery tune and four title choices. Hear more seconds (3 → 6 → 10 → full) at a cost of 10 points each, or risk a guess: first-try correct answers score 100, wrong guesses cost 30, and three strikes ends the round at zero.
The tunes span bouncy major-key jingles, a dreamy minor ballad, a driving synth-rock 8ths, and a slow waltz — each with its own key, tempo, and bass line so the fingerprints are musical, not just visual.
Eight rounds, 800 points on the table, 480 to win. Best score is saved in your browser.

Tips for a better run
Hear a snippet twice before guessing — the second listen often reveals the bass line, which is the tune's fingerprint.
Bouncy quarter-note tunes are usually the major-key ones; steady eighth notes point to the robotic or driving tunes.
A waltz 3/4 feel means Foghorn Waltz — it is the only one in 3/4.
Do not spend 'hear more' on the last round if you already recognize the melody — 10 points saved per round adds up to the 480 target.
Each tune has a distinctive opening rhythm: compare the first 3 seconds across tunes and you will spot the difference.
Frequently asked questions
Is Tune Trove related to Heardle or any other music guessing game?
Only the guess-the-tune format is shared — a general quiz format. The critical difference: Heardle uses copyrighted recordings, while every Tune Trove melody is an original composition written for this game and synthesized live in your browser. There is no third-party audio or IP anywhere in the game.
Are the melodies real songs I should know?
No — all 8 tunes were composed specifically for this game and exist nowhere else. You cannot look them up; you have to learn them by ear, which is the whole point.
How does scoring work?
Each round is worth up to 100 points. Each wrong guess costs 30 and each 'hear more' costs 10. 3 wrong guesses ends the round with 0. Total max is 800; 480 or more wins.
How do I win?
Score at least 480 of 800 across the 8 rounds. Your best score is saved locally in your browser.
Can I play on my phone?
